Non-reference 5000 and voltage control

Thread Starter
Apparently it works, with Trixx. Anybody got a non-reference card who can test it out?.. Somebody with a non-ref XFX got this, he says he couldn't control voltage in Afterburner.

And just so people know, I tried every trick in the book for Afterburner. All the config tweaks, Windows power options. Nothing worked. Then I found out about Trixx and I was blessed by a video card god(whoever created Trixx).

Which version do you have, Confessed?
I tried it with my 5870 Vapor-x and i confirm that it does allow voltage control and higher clocks than what CCC allows. I tried the Afterburner fix and i still didn't get voltage control. Trixx FTW!!!

This may sound silly, but did you guys go to the settings in Afterburner and actually check the "unlock voltage control" and "unlock voltage monitoring"?? If you click the "settings" button it's on the very first page that pops up....

I just got an MSI 5850 Twin Frozr and it took me like 12 hours to finally figure that out tongue.gif Did the .CFG tweak and finally I read the manual and it said I had to unlock it myself. I was getting ready to send MSI a nasty email about false advertisement redface.gif

Voltage is limited to 1.3 but that's plenty for me. Extremely stable at 1050/1120 at 1.25V. Haven't even seen it get 67 C after playing dirt 2 for a couple hours.

Yup this definitely works! I did the regedit tweak and .cnf tweak and now I can raise my voltage to w/e I like. Running stable at 950/1200. Probably could go higher, just haven't tried yet. Trixx is a great program.

Yes and it didn't work, Trixx on the other hand worked swimmingly

Weird, maybe you need to have an MSI card?
Confirmed, it works on my XFX 5850 non-ref.
