Need some help with HAF 922 cooling set-up

Thread Starter
I'm planning on adding some fans to my HAF 922 in the next week. I would like some advice for the fans, their model, and where to put them... Here is my current setup:

haf922.png

Top: 200mm fan as exhaust
Front: 200mm fan as intake
Rear: 2x 120mm fan as exhaust
Bottom: Nothing yet.
Side panel: Nothing yet.

As you can see there is currently more negative pressure. I also have the side panel that has nothing on it yet and it can take 2x 120mm fan or a 200mm fan.

What do you suggest?

Intake on the side panel and intake on the bottom if you desire. Airflow looks good though.

Add a pair of 120mm side intake fans. These will move much more air than one of their 200mm fans. Yate Loons will do the trick and are very inexpensive. If you want something of higher quality (better bearings for reduced noise and improved lifespan/heat tolerances mainly) then look at the Scythe S-Flex and Thermalright FDB series but Yates should be fine.

Rather than adding a 120mm bottom intake fan, I'd instead zip tie some 120mm fans to the back of the HDD cage. This would blow air straight toward the GPU and continue the front to back airflow pattern brought by the front 200mm fan.

If you choose to add a 120mm bottom intake fan, make sure it isn't a typical sleeve bearing fan as they perform worse when blowing air this way.

I forgot to mention that I'm in Canada =)

I just checked for the case, there is not enough room to "ziptie" more than one 120mm fan on the HDD cage (If I understand what you're trying to say by that) (HDD cage or DVD cage?)

There are very few yate loon choices here, thermalrights are too expensives, I guess I'll go with s-flex. Don't they have white fans?
And those 140mm fans for the bottom are not available here... I think. I won't put anything there then.

EDIT: Those fans are pretty noisy (s-flex) 28 DBa? Is there a 120mm fan that would move as much air but be more silent?

As you can see there is currently more negative pressure. I also have the side panel that has nothing on it yet and it can take 2x 120mm fan or a 200mm fan.

What do you suggest?

Bottom intake: go with a Gentle Typhoon. I have used both the AP-14 and the AP-13 for that.

Top: from the pics, it is clear that you cannot mount the top fan further forward from where it is. With your heatsink, if you switch the top fan to intake most of the output will go in front of your cooler. So flip your top fan around.

Next, remove your rear grill and rear exhaust fan. The air will simply flow out, and do so quietly with no fan there. You can use the former exhaust fan for such things as side intake, etc.

Would say more, but GTG.
