hey all im looking to build a good gaming computer. and im not sure wich cpu to go with

im stuck between

Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz
Phenom II X6 1100T Thuban 3.3GHz
Phenom II X4 970 Black Edition Deneb 3.5GHz

wich one of these guys woudl be best to go for gamming ...and some graphic rendering on the side? But wich one woudl i be able to get the best over clock % with also..

I'd get anything but the X4 970. Not worth the extra money when you can just bump up the multiplier on the 965 to get the same speed.
But it depends on the price. If the price isn't too high, get the X6. It's not gonna help a lot in gaming, but graphic rendering is just what you'd use an X6 for.

I also believe it'd be pretty easy to get the X6 to 4 GHz. Actually, I don't see why you'd get the 1100T. I'd get the 1090T instead since it has an unlocked multiplier, so it's just a tiny bump of the multiplier, and you've got a 1100T.

EDIT: Or get the 1075T. That's a BE too (features an unlocked multiplier) and should easily OC as far as a 1100T.

The Thubans will get you a better overclock because they are a newer stepping with better IMC's. You don't really need a CPU with an unlocked multiplier either if you're gonna get a good mobo that can reach a high FSB.

ok that was what i was thinking cause it was in the middle price wise of the two and figured the extrea 2 cores woudl be better for rendering...

now what shoudl i look at for a good mobo for this cpu for the best over clock ability?

in the end my goal if possible is to get to 4.0-4.5ghz range if possible... but i also know that just becuse it sound good does not mean it can be done...

Basically any 890FX motherboard will suit your needs. Do you have a budget for the mobo?

All Thubans from 1075T and up have an unlocked multiplier.

I don't think the 1075T is a Black Edition CPU, meaning no unlocked multi.
