If anything it should be called "Big flaw in Cherry MX switches". I've done the exact same thing and worse to my Eclipse and its fine, because the only point of failure is the electrical contacts, which are covered by the membrane, and then again by the plastic tray holding the keys.

@Yoko go away, your biased opinions are in no way helping the op.
Once again I didn't spill. I'll point it out, again:

The mechanical switch got a drop of soda in it, and the parts started to stick. Its not something I can clean without taking the switch apart, which is something I never have to do with a membrane or switch keyboard, and something that could apply to every type of mechanical switch.

I wonder why shops and manufacturers cut down on support costs and have crappy RMA service due to lost overhead by people violating the warranty by damaging the product due to lack of care or misuse, and then demanding a refund..

That was because there used to be (maybe still is) a higher tariff on fruits then vegetables. So people started calling them veggies for the sack of money.

Don't worry, I'm the type of guy who voids warranties on day 1 because I do stupid mods to EVERYTHING. I make up for jerks like this. I can't return things even if I want to.

Har har let me go spill soda in my keyboard and QQ about it no longer working.

While I'm at it, let me complain about how a can of soda would ruin my monitor. They really need to waterproof these things. Major flaw...

Would you seriously keep a keyboard that you just bought and happened to spill soda on it, and take advantage that you could return it and get a new one?

I think not.

A single drop dripped down the side of a key then jumped into the switch?

I don't really understand, my keyboard has caps on it.

This isn't a problem with liquid it's a problem with sticky liquid.

So far no orgasm related incidents.... I always knock on wood tho.

Off the top of my head I can only think of are the Topre/HHKB.

And I'm not sure what you hate the Eclipse so much Crazy. As far as tactile response goes its leagues above any Logitech keyboard. I had a hard time understanding the whole mechanical argument until I tried out a G15 at Bestbuy, because the Eclipse isn't bad at all. I've had mine for 2 years and I can still feel them snap. It only took me about 5 minutes to readjust.
My original eclipse died last week, it was funny trying to repair it, underneath it was completely smashed from the beating it took, things are totally solid until you spill something on it, don't get me wrong, they can take a spill no worries, but when you spill ~100ml on it, it's gone. You can be sure of that.
