[Geek.com] Russia to adopt Linux as national operating system by 2015 - Page 11

I don't know why you people are happy to hear this...

Whether or not you like Microsoft and Windows is not important here. The important thing to notice is that Russia is ditching Windows simply because it is manufactured by an American corporation. Hence, it is an attack on the US corporate world, and an attempt to weaken US prominence in the software world.

This is not good news for anyone who isn't Russian, Chinese or hates democracy and the "Western World."

Proof?

If you recall the cold war, the US produced far more nuclear warheads than Russia did who exaggerated their nuclear capabilities... Heck, I think between 1940 and 1990 the US detonated some 20,000 nuclear warheads, more than every other country combined.

Eh? What a lot of old-smelly-socks... Paranoid much? "An attack on the US corporate world!"? Wha? Bring on the attacks against the US and indeed most Western Corps... it is these corps that starve people and prevent the most basic of healthcare. Such as the US thinly veiled attempt at "humanitarian aid" in Haiti... for one.

I think you will find it is world-banks and global-corps that are "running the world" and not some ex-KGB pipsqueak like Vlad... although he would like to believe differently.

LoL, I wonder if you know what a "Cold War" even means.

US detonated 20,000 warheads between 1940 and 1990? Now lets see some proof of that

Did you go to school in a underground bunker?

Of course, you would have us believe that it was the US that caused the earthquake itself.

Also, as unfortunate as it is, most of the world is starving since history made it so. You can blame that on colonialism, war and civil unrest but certainly can't say that anyone is holding them back and especially on purpose. Most third world countries fell behind the rest of the world, and won't be catching up any time soon.

And I'm not paranoid at all. What I'm saying is that the only reason Russia is not using Windows is because it is American. If Microsoft was a Russian company would Russia also make the same decision? Of course not. And so it was a deliberate attack on the US software industry.

Whether or not "World Banks" are behind Putin can't be proven and frankly sounds like one of those conspiracies. What is fact however, is that Putin has an extremely high popularity in Russia and can throw anyone who opposes him in Jail. He was also president for 8 years and intends to run again. Of course he is supported by unseen forces and various groups in Russia, but nevertheless the man has power.

Its easy as looking on wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_states_with_nuclear_weapons
US: 9,600 total
Russia: 12,000 total.

Russia also has the biggest bomb in all of existence. The Tsar Bomb.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwlNPhn64TA&feature=related[/ame]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsar_Bomba

Even at the height of the cold war, the US had 32,000 warheads, Russia still had 45,000.

Nevermind, we're way off topic.

Few years ago the Russian Navy wanted to buy the Windows Kernel to develop their own OS.

As esoteric as the Windows Kernel is they could probably have the most stable, virus free OS in history

Technically "Linux" is not an operating system... it is an open source platform on which many operating systems are run
