Upgrading suggestions please

Hey all! I have been visiting these forums for a long time. Although I rarely ever post here. I would like to thank everyone who reads this for all your knowledge, as I have learned allot from reading here over serveral months.

I am looking to upgrade my PC for better FPS in COD: Black Ops. My current system I built two years ago.

Seasonic 500W
Gigabyte P35
Xeon X2310 2.13GHz Quad Core LGA775
2 GB DDR2 Corsair
X-Fi XtremeGamer Professional
EVGA GTX 460 1GB (Upgraded from EVGA GTS 8800 320MB)

I would like to upgrade CPU, Mobo, and RAM. My biggest problem is my budget; $450. I would like to get an i7 1366. Because I think the 1366 has more upgrade potential down the road. So with an i7 Although they seem more expensive. I was also looking at the ASUS SaberTooth mobo but open to suggestions.

I have been shopping around various websites but I've been out of the loop for two years basically, so I dont know whats good and whats not. I don't really overclock, although it would be nice to have the ability to do so in the future. Is my budget reasonable or do I should I look towards an i5 1156? What are my best options?

Any advice, suggestions, or alternative ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Within a few days, LGA-1155 will be released so I'd hold off on upgrading to LGA-1156 unless you find good deals on used parts.

Do you have a Micro Center nearby? They have Core i7-950's for $200. Otherwise, I bet you'll find a lot of LGA-1366 owners "upgrading" to LGA-1155/Sandy Bridge so wait for that.

Hmm, then you'll probably to go for used if you want LGA-1366. Wait a week or so. There'll probably a bunch of folks selling their old kit.

You've also got the option of going Sandy Bridge (i5-2500K).

Ok great. Thanks for the advice. Although I'm kind of nervous buy used parts off of forums. I've done it before and never got what I paid for, although it wasn't off this forum. Thanks.
