Dual channel problem.

Thread Starter
I've been encountering this for far too long. My first mobo I owned. a K9VGM-V or w/e from msi, micro-atx really crappy.

At first it was great it only had two ram slots and I bought a 2gig dualchannel kit to throw in them for about 2 years dual channel worked.

Then all of a sudden it stopped. So my friend gave me his ECS A780GM-A Black Edition mobo. It wouldn't even make a noise like my msi board did (Loud continuous beep noise), it just won't boot at all in dual channel.
Black screen, no noise, no continuous rebooting, nothing. Power is on all led's and drive sounds like its spinning.

My problem is after figuring out it wasn't the board because neither of them worked, I went ahead and ordered a 2gig ram kit from ADATA. Still encountering the same problem with dual channel.

So now I have two dualchannel 2gig kits that I cannot use together. I mean I only have 4 dimms to use. and 4 1 gig sticks.
so I can't use them all together. 1 gig in 1 colored dimm and another in the other colored dimm.

This is highly irritating and I'm clueless, mad, sad...
Just cursed my girlfriend out because I was suppose to be cleaning with her... and I've had to try to figure out and tinker with the bios over and over.

If anyone has a clue please please please help me.

SPECS:
AMD 5000+ Black Edition
Adata 800mhz dualchannel/G.skill 800mhz dualchannel. (HAVE NOT TRYED TO RUN THESE TOGETHER AT ALL)
400w PSU
ECS a780gm-a.

Thanks, nsane.

Try to use a single ram stick in one slot at a time to see if there is a slot that is crapping out on you.

I know for a fact that I cannot run any two sticks in the same colored dimm's.

I will try this though.

Looks like [][X]___[][X] (where the X's are) are DOA memory slots on that motherboard. It happens.

Must be the same thing with my msi mobo.

My graphics card got burn up somehow after my psu metldown.

So now I gotta dump another $150 into the comp ._.

Time to go find a job.
