Do ya'll think after installing my xigmatek xdt to my unlocked quad in my sig rig and then adding a GTX460 (or perhaps the 5850?) that i'll be able to handle ffxiv at high settings?

At 1920x1080?
Yeah. It won't be "buttery smooth" (60fps+) though. It should be around 40fps (Still pretty smooth).

Here's Xbit's review
http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/vid..._15.html#sect2

In this case, the 5850 is a lot better than the GTX460

I never ran it with 1 460 but with 2 460s it was low 50s at the highest. High res with high settings is asking a little too much from 1 460 I think. I would go with 2 460s if anything. With 2 470s and depth of field on I get about 40ish fps on 1080p. Hopefully someone can come along and tell you what one 460 is like. sLowEnd do you play? I didn't mean to contradict you but I don't think he'd get 40.

Low settings in this game look as good as high almost and I built a rig with a 5850 for a friend for this game. He's hitting 50 easy. City areas are guaranteed slowdown (even on my pc). The other thing to mention is that this game is very cpu intensive. More cores the better. All 6 of mine get 80-100 usage while playing.
