[Direct GBT] Gigabyte G1-Killer Gaming Motherboard coming soon! (Pics Added!) - Page 6

A gigabyte board without solid caps? Oh my.

I do like the Onboard X-FI/Killer NIC though.

Edit: I realized those caps are for audio processing.

The lighting in the top pic reminded me of Lanparty colouring.

It would be killer if Lanparty helped design that board (pun intended)

Now that I think about it, GB has been making a strong market penetration since DFI dropped out of consumer MB area. It would not surprise me if GB picked up some of the DFI enthusiast R@D team that were not needed any more. If this was stated already, then I missed the memo.

Back OT\ There is a market for these types of boards with all of the other XXFata7it!SupremeMaXXimus stuff out there, but the UD# Series is plenty high end to take care of most OC and enthusiast needs.

Sweet looking board and it does look like the old DFI boards. Seems a bit late to introduce X58 motherboards though.

Bit-tech has a preview here, with some great images and news of another possible lineup of the G1 based boards in the near future -one for us overclockers too.

Why oh why do these companies insist on the lamest crap like a gun clip heatsink?

I would NEVER buy a motherboard with such a cheesy design. Do they think they are gaining market share with those kinds of designs?

If you were to read the attached Bit-Tech article, the motherboard is aimed at gamers who don't want to overclock. Kind of like ASUS' ROG, but with less overclocking. Gigabyte is trying to a target a specific segment of the market -e.g. gamers who want a 1366 board but don't care for overclocking yet want all the speed as possible; so really just lazy douchebags who wear fitted "hatz" and can boast that they've "built" a "computer." But the main concern here isn't the styling, but why a 1366 board aimed at players when SB just came out and smokes any 1366 cpu at gaming?

Agreed, it does look a bit DFI.

Really liking what Gigabyte are doing at the moment. So glad they've moved on from the crayon puke colour scheme, along with the blue PCB's.
