Remind me not to play with you.

I'll say it again. The class is RECON, not sniper.

Recon implies you'll do some damn work and actually sneak around and arm mcoms, not hang out on some hill, or in some tree and be completely useless all for the sake of 1 man's K/D ratio...

M14 + 4x opt. No wait.
To OP, a patch came out a while a go that made all the bolt action sniper do the same damage, excluding the M95 which has a higher minimum damage by 5 (55 not 50).

Out of all the snipers I like the SV98 the best, statistically, it's the best in my eyes. If all the bolt actions do the same damage then the one with the highest magazine count and fastest reload put out the highest damage per minute (disregarding semi-auto's and the VSS). It also has a low drop, not like the GOL where bullet drop is negligible to about 200M. My rank in order from best to worse: SV98, GOL, SVU, M24, VSS, M95.
Yes, M95 can damage choppers, but any of the snipers can shoot out the pilot.

If you take long range shots, use the GOL, If you play a medium range and occasionally attack, go with the SV98, M24 or SVU. If you play a completley offencive sniper, go with the VSS with 4x or Red Dot and hang out with an assault so he can give you ammo. SVU with 4x/RDS is also deadly in CQB.

Just my opinion on what works best for me. smile.gif

M95 is the best in regular, it bolts faster and reloads faster. Though if you're good at leading the SV98 is a one hit kill to the head at any range.

Semi autos in hardcore.

On regular maybe, on hardcore you'd be so confused. And if you find the right spot, you can get a lot done by "camping." You just have to find the choke point where all the enemies flood through and pick them off.

Please do not forget that you have motion sensors and you should use them smile.gif

Just came out of a match and played recon the whole time.
Got 23:12, but I played with a shotgun (Arica Harbor Conquest, I can't snipe for crap on that map sozo.gif). 870CMS with slugs and magnum ammo really does the trick. That and the M1911 as a pistol with some C4 (which I didn't really use :\).
Make sure that you play WITH your squad. I didn't have a squad at the beginning of the match (one full squad + me) so I had to try and stick with them. After I got three others in my squad, it was ridiculous eek.gif

Yeah, BC2 is amazing when you have all of your teams squads making an extra effort to pull the win, otherwise you just see noobs in the tanks and people flying the helis without a joystick, honestly, if you've ever flown with a real BC2 pilot you can tell the difference.

You have it all wrong.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RECON

A good player should have the spot scope, and get in a good position. Usually, I get in a position where I can clearly see one of the mcom stations. When one of my guys sets a charge, I can pick off anyone trying to disarm. Or, if defending, I pick off anyone setting the charge.
It is completely stupid to use recon and try to run around and shoot people as if you are carrying an AR.

Assuming we aren't in hardcore mode. Even so, what good sniper picks an easily distinguishable location, like the light-house?
