So I just got infected with Superanti Defender 2011..

I'll admit I was panicking a bit at first.

I was looking for some walkthroughs for a game and I clicked on one of the first links in Google.

Well, turns out that was a malicious site and I got whacked with Super Anti Defender or whatever it was called.

MSE shut down, Firefox shut down, and up popped this little window saying I had a ton of viruses.

So immediately I unplugged my Ethernet cable.
I tried relaunching both MSE and task manger but the sneaky little thing wouldn't let me saying that they were infected.

So then I go to my utilities folders, otherwise known as...

THE ARMORY.

From there I was able to launch both Spybot and Superantispyware for scanning.

But it took too long, so I decided to boot up Hijackthis for kicks.

From there, I found out where the program was hiding, it took refugee in my Roaming Appdata folder.

I went to the folder and deleted it.

Everything went back to normal, I was able to launch MSE (big help it was ) and I'm running a full scan with it now.

Just thought this would help anybody who got struck with the same thing, it actually takes just 5 minutes or so to get rid of.

Hijackthis, make it your best friend

Keep in mind, you can do all of this without restarting or going into safe mode, I didn't do either.
