You have about another hour to use the 15% off Memory code on Newegg.com

You can easily get a kit cheaper than $100.00

G.Skill Ripjaws are working great for me.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231311 - 8GB Kit $90.00 BEFORE 15% off.

Promo Code is.. DKMEM15

If you're only looking for 4gb of RAM you're going to be hard pressed to find one for more than $100.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231277

There's a good set for $50.

No hurry on purchasing atm, still need to confirm my board died

Don't need 8gb though, looking for 2x2gb sets that are fast with tight timings

Edit: I have another question - can ram bottleneck your gpu in benchmarks that are gpu heavy?

I only ask because my 1090T @ 4.4Ghz core/3.3Ghz NB wasn't coming close to saturating in Heaven or other gpu intensive benchmarks but my gpu would cap at 98% a lot in Heaven, and in 3d Mark 11 it would go as low as 88% and hardly ever hit 99%.

Cheapest 2x2GB choice: Corsair XMS3 1600 9-9-9 - $43, $33 AR after promo code
Another great choice: G.Skill Ripjaws 1600 7-8-7 - $60 after (different) promo code [afaik you can't stack promo codes sadly]

basically tridents with ripjaw heatsinks i think.

I don't know if it will run those timings.... I think you are expecting a bit much, you would need hypers for that.

The only RAM that can do that is not under $100 sadly; cheapest Hypers kit is around $115 and not even in stock.

Your only other choice is something high-voltage with Samsung HCF0 or Micron D9, also not in stock anymore and probably unavailable for below $100 (though I recently found a lucky 4x2GB of Micron D9JNM for $105 deal - Vancouver craigslist = huge privilege )

Anything 2000 9-9-9 is a ripoff on AMD, 1600 CAS6-7 will be easier to stabilize and get equal-better results; however, you may want 2000Mhz for more overclockability/flexibility.

Kingston used to use Elpida Hyper MNH-E but backed out due to the chips failing often. Hyper MGH-E is what you should be looking for.

No, umm hypers are out of production as far as i know, ewiz had some a while back super talents but I'm not sure they have any more left.

I think they did 8-8-8 at 2000, the tridents do 9-9-9, there are some moderately cheaper ripjaws that will do 10-9-10.

The ones I linked to, I'm pretty sure they are still tridents just with the ripjaw heatsink, same timings and ect.

Yea, ripoff if you can't run them....., but if say you were upgrading to something else later that could run them would leave future options, as you said with flexibility.

For instance sandy bridge could probably use it with it's clock speed being so high.
