Yea, those are it.

Go look on ewiiz for some if you are real interested but they still start over $100 and from what i have seen are all out of stock.

I'm not use to this AMD generation, so i don't have anything to comment on that. If the chips can't run them the super fast ram is no good to ya, but if you are upgrading soon to something that can whatever it may be, then it may be beneficial.

It's probably not best to buy ram based on future upgrades (like bulldozer) since by that time wouldn't it all be cheaper and faster?

Should I look into cas 6/7 1600? I know the 1090T can run higher than 1600 ram, but how much higher and if it's worth it is an unknown to me.

Get this Kingston HyperX T1 Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3/2000 then pull it down to DDR3/1600 and tighten the timings to around 6 or so

I suppose it depends on when you would be getting it.

DDR3 isn't suppose to go anywhere for a while, tho it may be cheaper ram tends to last a good while.

I can't see the future price wise, could be cheaper but you would already be in for 2 sets know what i mean? , your still on your trusty dusty ddr2.

lol yah I am, I'm worried about price/performance if I jump up to ddr3.

My mobo might be toast so I'll be in the market for a new board and figured I should look into ddr3 this time.

Never got an answer on the ram bottleneck and if it would affected a high clocked gtx 470 in gpu heavy benchmarks/games.

The plan was to sell this set of ddr2 to help cover the cost of going up to ddr3, or I could use them for an old lady build since ddr2 is still expensive even at 800.

Seriously... this is the best option that you can go with, considering that some higher-end 1600 RAM sells for more than this set, and you could probably get tighter timings on 1600 with this pair... I do not know why everyone is complaining about it being an AMD system -therefore making it crap, along with its integrated memory controller... It is a PII x6 for goodness sakes, it has an upgraded memory controller over the older PII x4's which really shouldn't be given any more than a tight DDR3/1333, making it perfectly capable to handle even the tightest of DDR3/2000 sets... Just because you are an Intel fanboy, does not give you the right to make false accusations off no facts... I admit Intel certainly has higher perform CPU's in a multitude of tasks, but when it comes out to price/performance... AMD has it down! I mean for this price... the most comparable CPU appears to be the i5-661... which really makes me wonder why it is more expensive than the i5-760... so anyway lets now look at some facts... OWWW what does anandtech CPU bench have to say? 1090T vs i5-661 hmmm... it appears as though the 1090T wins close to all real benchmarks and the 1090T is still 133MHz under... So please... I don't care if AMD is truly crap because, even as someone who owns a PII x4 am thinking of moving over to SB, simply because I am not based off fanboy logic... just next time if you want to bring a company down... do it with real facts... don't just say... "This AMD cpu won't be able to handle 2000MHz RAM because its not Intel"... I know that no one that I know of have actually said that so far... but being the fanboys you are... I wouldn't be surprised if someone ended up saying this later on the thread...
