hi all....... quick question.


would an old P4 @ 5ghz say, beat an i7 @ 3.5ghz..??

i was under the impression clockspeed was king with this app.??

Ha, no.
If I remember correctly a P4 around 3.5 will take roughly 40 seconds to do 1M..
Not going to gain that much by pumping it to 5 Ghz..

lol.... what about an E2180 @ 5ghz vs an i7 @ 3.5ghz

the 2180 being the first ever in the C2D line up..??

the only reason i ask is b/c some guy is trying to laugh at someone else b/c he's built a new i7 980 rig with all the bells & whistles & this git has jumped & told him its crap b/c his aging E8500 pulls the same speed on superPI

i'd love to be able to shove some humble pie down his throat.... as he's quite upset now after spending hundreds on his new baby..
