Water cooling advice

Thread Starter
Hi guys,

I am thinking of water cooling my PC build,

Could you suggest a good all in one kit to purchase, bareing in mind that i have never set up water cooling before (read some guides doesnt seem particulay difficuly)

I live in the Uk, but have heard good things about this http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12...tem.html#blank

Would this fit in my case, whats the need for the 3 fans?

The radiator is where heat is removed from the liquid in your watercooling system. In many ways it is similar to heatsinks used in aircooling systems, heat is transferred to the fins and air produced by the fans then flows through the fins carrying heat away. That's why there's those 3 fans.

get the 750, would cool your components better. It's better to run distilled water from a grocery store with some biocide like pt nuke or silver killcoil in it.

silver kill coil? basically just small bits of metal coated in silver, is this to help with conduction of heat, whats pt nuke?

Petra'sTech PT Nuke is a specially formulated Benzalkonium chloride solution intended for use as a biocide in your water cooled PC. Primarily geared toward systems running straight distilled water, Nuke -PHN is not acidic and will not drop your coolant's pH, making it ideal for use in poorly buffered coolants and situations where corrosion is a concern (since many corrosion inhibitors are optimized for use within a pH range of 7-8.5).

Info taken from petra's site.

Basically silver killcoil and PT Nuke prevents algae from growing in your loop.

the kill coil is to prevent algae and pt nuke does the same thing

No.

A KillCoil is .999 pure silver wire. If you use silver-coated metal, or sterling, or any alloy you run a good risk of creating lots of culture in your WC loop.

Pure silver is a biocide. But only when pure, as the silver ion concentration that comes off is high enough to prohibit growth.
