Could someone please tell me what is causing this noise. Started recently and usually happens at random. Here's a recording I made:

Any idea if there's a way I can narrow down the source? I haven't changed my BIOS settings (voltages etc) in a long time and only upgraded my GPUs since building the sig rig although the problem was happening with my old GPUs as well.

And it's definitely not the headphones themselves?

If they aren't already, plug the headphones into the port on the back side of your computer.

There may bee to much EMI in the front jack, if that's where they are plugged in.

It's probably not the headphones themselves, plug them into an iPod or some other music device and test...

The cans are plugged into the headphone port on my Forte. Just played a few songs on my iphone with the cans plugged in, no static noises at all.

I'd try reinstalling the drivers, see if that helps.

I've narrowed down all of the possibilities of what could be causing this but after more Googling it looks like it is indeed electric interference. I can't figure out what to do for the life of me to make the noise go away. My Forte is in between my GPUs in the PCI-E 1.1 slot. I tried moving some of the power cables around but still nothing. Any help is appreciated.

EDIT - also, after trying another driver reinstall, I now can't get any volume at all - even at 100% system tray volume I barely hear anything. Think I might go back to on board sound. I've had way too much trouble with this sound card for what it's worth.
