Need Help Choosing Components for the Ultimate Workstation

Hi!
I am looking to build my own computer for C A D, Photoshop, video editing, etc. Basically I would like to build a high-end workstation. I would like to do this around the summer of 2011. I would like this to last me 5-8 years.
I am looking at a MacPro and a Falcon Northwest Mach V.
However, I feel these are a bit overpriced and not exactly suited for my needs.
My price range is not that limited. I would like to spend under $25,000.

My Current Build So Far (need suggestions)

Motherboard: Rampage iii

Processor: Core i7 980x. (possibly a xenon, because I want 12 cores.)
Is there a mobo that can handle 2 980x's, like the macpro can with a xenon?

GPU: Which is better: v9800
or 2x v8800 with an s400
or a quadro 6XXX or 5XXX? (but a little out of my price range)

Hard Drive: Western digital caviar black sata 6gbps 1tb. OS: some sort of ssd. (might want raid or jbod)

Case: need advice

Cooling: need advice

RAM: 32 gb - the rampage can handle a max of 36, right? (not sure on manufacturer, speed, etc.)

Optical: need advice

Monitor: 2x or 4x Eizo 30"

Not sure how to, but to boost processing power, I would want to throw in a Tesla. How does that work, and how does it benefit performance? Can it be used with my AMD gpu's?

If you could help me with the parts for this build, it would be much appreciated.

That is the board I seek!
This seems perfect, but what about dual XEON 7500's?
By the way, what is the best processor that will work on a EVGA SR2?

Bumping to get more info. Any input from anyone else?

You want processors with dual QPIs to run on the SR-2.

Those are only Xeons, and the highest end in that arena is the X5680, which is essentially a 980x. If you wanted a case for that, and cooling, you'd be at a loss for cases, which you're stuck with HPTX boxes like the Mountain Mods cases.

That or you could mod a 700D.

The SR-2 supports 12x4GB sticks, 6 per CPU, but 6x4GB or 6x2GB would be easier on the IMC. If you need the RAM, absolutely go for all 48GB, but 24 should be able to pass. you can do 6x4GB side by side with 6x2GB if you want 36GB.

Cooling? You're spending $25,000, I think water cooling would be your best bet, and you're probably going to just be running a CPU loop.

SSD? If you're up for the best of the best, get a Revo. Otherwise, get a C300 or some other SATA 3 variety. Storage would work best with RAID 0, 1 or 0+1 if you can afford 4 HDDs.

Ask if you need more info. Others could help in cooling and storage better than I can, for sure.

Wow. This guy summed it up well.

As for video cards and Tesla... Tesla only matters if you're running a program that utilizes GPU acceleration. In reality, simply running two Quadros, in SLI or not, would probably be enough if your program supported it. Also, when looking at video cards, get a lot of VRAM, as CAD programs will use it.

Ok...

I was going to get dual xeons x5680. But now that sandy bridge is out, should I wait for an 8 core or 10 core? What about the xeon x7xxx series? Is there a motherboard that supports the new sandy bridge or the 7xxx?

Could you please send me a link to the case? All I could find was http://www.mountainmods.com/modular-...bly-p-567.html .

I am not too fond of liquid cooling. Is it hard to install? If I were not to overclock (or slightly overclock), could I do it with the boxed cooler?

What brand/speed ram should I get? Mushkin?

I will go for an ssd + hard drives. Do I need a raid card?

I really am unsure that if I were to get a v9800 that would give me more power than 2 8800's.
Since I have 2 cards that are a bit less powered, I would think that would give me more performance. I am not too fond of nvidia, but I could spring for the quadros.

I am looking to get 4 eizo 30". Are these a good value and a good choice?
http://www.eizo.com/global/products/...03w/index.html
Should I get it with IPS or VA display technology?

If you want Sandybridge high-end, then you're going to be waiting around a calendar year at last rumour.
