w/c r3e chipset

i'm installing the ek waterblock for the r3e mobo(nb,sb,chipset). i wish i could get photos. my problem is the sb chip. after removing the factory cooler, the sb chip has some adhesive residue from the tape on the sb cooler. i cannot get it off. it covers about 1/4 for the chip at one end. i tried alcohol with a rag but it will not come off. if i leave this on will it cause a cooling issue?

i got some pics of the r3e sb.if you look at the mobo shot you can see the sb has a coating on it's left side that is the adhesive from the old cooling assembly. the other shots are of my rad tower assembly w/push-pull.

God I hated cleaning off that crap off my board as well. I can assure you that it will eventually come off with enough scrubbing. Granted it took me 1.5 hours alone to get it all off the SB chip. Just keep at it and it'll clean up. You want a nice clean surface to apply for the blocks.

Your tower setup is very intimidating. I was going to suggest just scrubbing also, too late

either one. it really does not matter, try to set it up w/ the best plumbing. here's mine:

we have the same mobo waterblock.. you have rad-cpu-ekwaterblock(middle inlet)-gpu(outlet from upper ekwaterblock)..i see what you did..this will take some thinking..my rad assembly will be mounted on top of the 800d.line in to the heatkiller center inlet, out bottom outlet. here is where i need to make a decision. loop up to the top of ek block inlet or loop down to the center inlet.i'll have to install the mobo first to see how the hose routes will look.
