so i finally got around to tinkering with my cpu...

Thread Starter
and in the bios i discovered AI overclocking *i think* and it OC'd my lil 5400+ to 3.080.3mhz

the mp is set to 14 and the bus is set to 220 corev is set to 1.440

now, i know i can go higher cause speedfan is telling me my core temp is only 14c and well, im sure i can get this puppy to at least 3.2

now, i'm newb to OC'n (aside from gfx) and after reading some other threads on how to OC, i still dont want to end up with a burned down house lol

so what can i do?

I said I was just Kidding!

I say go for it. You have the AI auto tune thing with those silly Asus boards, I would disable it and tune it manually, You know you can at least hit 3ghz so call that a starting point at 1.4vcore.

Here is the Basic overclocking Guide that I have found the most helpful. This guide basically says to isolate each component to find each of there max then work the system up from there. I am certain you will hit 3.2 I would bet you will find stability a little hire up to 3.5.

So just turn of the silly auto tune, go into the manual settings and start bumping the core speed up while keeping the NB and HT down around 1000 if its an AM2+ or 2000 if its an aM3.
