Yeah, I am so totally clueless that I tap a name on my favorite list and it calls one that is about 30 down on the list. Some people may just be screwing up, but on my Evo it is not the case. There is no way I could have accidentally hit some of the contacts it called, when I would have had to scroll down at least 5 or 6 times to get to the one it called instead. One time, I would call it a fluke and possibly my own fault, but three times yesterday. That is a software problem manifesting itself.

Got my Evo on Tuesday and had a Rooted Moment before that. I can say as much as I hated the Moment I never had this issue. I also never had this issue on the Hero I ran before the Moment which was flashed with Cyanogen Mod, and the Evo has been a well behaved mini-tablet since day one. Too early to be sure, but I don't think it's going to act up on that end.

UnAimed I take it you dont have an android phone?

As for me zero issues. I used the stop sms/texting app for 2 months before switching to handcent. I average 5k texts a month and never had that problem.

Oh and I am now running Fresh on my Evo. My brother's stock evo has no text issue.

I chalk it up to user error.

You'd be wrong then. I've had this happen to me on an 2.1 Eclair install. I text someone, go to the home screen, go to the response and it shows someone else's name. But just going back to home clears it up and it's not as big a deal as people make it seem. But I'm now on a 2.1 Eclair Hero install and it doesn't show up. (Your brother most likely is running a 2.2 Froyo Hero also.)

I've had my Galaxy S since August and I've not experienced any of these aforementioned issues. Lucky me. However, Android is still in its infancy. It'll mature in 2011 and hopefully we'll see handset manufacturers actually supporting it properly.
