keys not responding!!!!

hi guys,
recently my xbox360 controller died on me and right now i dont have any replacement for it....
so i started using my keyboard(some crappy logitech)for playing racing games...
and i noticed a peculiarity......for instance while playing nfs:hp if i press the acceleration key(up arrow) and while pressing it i press the nitro key(left alt)
then my left arrow(turn left)key does not respond....if i release any of the 2 pressed keys then only it starts reacting again......i have not messed with any settings in windows...and have tried 3 different keyboards but the same problem persists......i even reinstalled windows........
and btw i went to my freind's house to check this and found his keyboard to be working fine.....
can anyone explain this, its very annoying??????

Since you've ruled out software it has to be the keyboard. The don't last forever. Borrow one and see if it works fine. If it does get a new one.

Btw I'm curious

well as i told i have already tried three keybords other than mine
and checked again right now it only happens with the left arrow key
coz when i switched the acceleration, left, right.brake functions from the arrow keys to i,j,l,k respectively no such problem occured........does it has something to do with sticky keys or some settings in windows......

UPDATE: figured something out this is happening only if i bind nitro function to alt key....so when i
binded it to the shift key everything became normal and my left arrow key started responding......any explanation guys.....and btw i tried this coz i remembered my freind used shift key for nitro and i used left alt.......
so finally it turns out i cant use my left arrow key with alt key while any other key is pressed down....

Oh. Somehow skipped over the part where you said you tried 3 different keyboards. Well at least you know its just the alt key. Maybe that keyboard enables/disables something with alt + left arrow and that was making it not work.

It's called rollover. Trivia time. The PS3 DualShock has doubleshot keys and is NKRO.
