Well, this all sounds like a big drag.

However ... in reality, you rec'd a 465 and then proceeded to flash it to a 470, correct? At that point, you voided your warranty. Ergo, anything they are doing for you is basically a favor. Should probably keep that in mind

Actually I didn't flash it, it was flashed from them when I received the replacement, except it wasn't even an MSI bios it was some wacky one that was causing problems. The replacement I got for that one that they're trying to get me to send back came as a 470 as well, but it the stock 470 twin frozr bios and its working great.

Sent him a PM linking to here.

I didn't even mention that they're still holding about $720 in collateral for cross shipments I haven't been refunded for yet..

I've made multiple RMAs with MSI and my experiences were the polar opposite of the OP. I love their quick service!

I have had many problems with MSI, and to be honest my MSI 880GM-E41 board is the last thing I am buying from them. There Rebates take forever, there RMA is crap, and their supposedly East Coast Technical Support is the biggest lie I have ever heard. I get better service from company's with support in China.

It's really a shame to because they actually have some half decent products, but alas good products can't make up for poor customer support.

If this is truly what happened then you voided your warranty, and are pretty lucky.

On the flip side.

This is not the first time I have heard of this happening. None the less I don't know. This is only my two cents.

I believe flashing the bios does NOT void the warranty. I recieved one flashed GE from NCIX that whats his name did and there was even a note saying that the warranty is still good.
