Ready to build and cool

Been watching you all for a couple of weeks and there is a LOT of good info and a BUNCH of smart guys here on overclock so I'm coming onboard to learn. I plan my first ever build and though, heck if you've never built one, why not go ahead and water cool it too. So.... here is my tentative list of components so jump in if you have input or you see something is not right..
I thank each of you in advance.....Have a great 2011.....Here we go!
(Would like to stay at $3500 MAX!) I'm at that already!

Please tell me if you see compatibility issues or other components that will work just as good for cheaper money...
Yes, I will overclock when I start and run it awhile..

How many 580s are you using?

If it's just 1 you DEFINITELY don't need a 1500W PSU, a solid 600-700W one would be fine if it's just one 580 and everything else.

For the case try to get something different, I wanna say the 800D since it'd be great for watercooling.

There are so Lian-Li cases and Silverstone cases that would be sweet as well.

For the CPU block see if you can get a Supreme HF (Copper w/ Nickel)

GPU Block check out EK, Heatkiller, Aquagrafx (check for nickel plating)

Do you really need a RAM waterblock?

For fittings try to get some compression fittings since they just overall look better IMO and they have no need for clamps.

That is up to you though if the price is right.

Thanks SecrtAgentMan-
1. Yea, I thought someone would pick up on the 1500w psu and you're right, I am only running 1 gtx 580....right now.. But I wanted the extra power just in case later I'd buy a second one as part of an upgrade in a year or so and I'd already have the power there. Looked like prices really don't drop much until you get under 1000watts anyway..
2. I will look at the Lian-Li and 800D (never heard of either of them).. I just came across the HAF-X and thought it looked neat and it has good reviews.
3. Checking your other rec's.....
4. Do I need RAM water block...you're right again, not really...but hey..
My grandfather used to say, "Once a job is first begun, never leave it till it's done. Be the labor great or small, do it well or not at all".......

Well even with just 2 580s a good 850W PSU would be great (Corsair AX850 or Seasonic X850), both have the same internals, 100% modular and are Gold Plus

If you really want a 1k+ PSU and are dead set on it then try to get one with a Gold rating for the best efficiency and check out reviews on it.

Lian Li has a bunch of cases so look around, try to find one with ample space, rad space, and if possible cable routing, the Silverstone TJ-07 or this would be some great choices as well.

If you do want a RAM block then look for a MIPS block or an EK block (available Jan 2011 but it only works with Dominator GTs) no idea if they support the XMS modules.

if you're going for water cooling you cant go wrong with a corsair 800d also there is no real point in getting a network card there is no real difference and as mentioned in previous posts the psu is overkill

Since he has an Intel SSD, I reckon the Caviar Greens are just used for storage in which case, there's nothing wrong with it.

That's what the SSD is for. Install all apps on the SSD and use the greens for pure storage. I highly doubt you'd need a 7200RPM drive for music and videos (unless you're doing HD/raw video editing, etc).

By the way, at 2TB capacities, 7200RPM are considerably more expensive than green drives (~$40+ difference).
