Phenom II 955 OC with Noctua DH-D14

Thread Starter
Hi,

I just purchased a new cooler for my CPU, the Noctua DH-D14. I installed it with some AS5 thermal paste and since this is my first time putting thermal paste on a CPU i'd like to know if my temps are normal.

My CPU is OC@ 3.9GHZ 1.48V NB@2400MHZ 1.3V... i ran prime95 for a while and it looks to be stable.

I'm getting 45C idle and 55C under load. Is this what i should be expecting? It's also quite hot in my room.

kinda high in my honest opinion, I have the same CPu and CPu cooler and I idle at 28C max load is at 49C, ambient is roughly 22-25c

i use the same TIM as well, I use the pea method ^_^ just so you know if that will help, I'm just OC'ed at 3.8 though with 1.35 Vcore

Edit: Oh you have the C2 version, I've heard that those CPU's can get high temps, but as i've said, i think i wont be comfortable with 45c idle...

That is about normal for an C2 cpu. C2 runs about 5c higher then the C3.

Thats fine for the volts you are using.

Seems about right to me. Im using the same CPU and Noctua but mine is at 3.6 with less voltage so my loads temps are around 45-48c and idle at 32-33c

yep.. normal for a C2
