looking for an external function keypad of sorts.

hey everyone, im looking for a programable keypad of some sort that i can map out to do certain commands.

like for example, map out a single key on it so that one press on the external pad would act like pressing alt+f3 on the keyboard. or something like that.

I'm using this with progams like UltraMixer which have quite an elaborate keyboard shortcut set-up that's a little difficult for me to remember, and fooling around with the mousepad is not an option on my laptop.

i think what i'm looking for is like this. but these seem somewhat too pricey considering it's just another keyboard (atleast to my logic).

any help is appreciated.

The razer one often goes on sale for cheap for look out for it

otherwise just get a keyboard that comes with macro software like keyboards by Razer
or the G series from logitech, G15 often goes on sale for less than $50

use sharpkeys or autohotkey, any button on the keyboard can hten be remapped.
then you can get an external numberpad and have it on the left of the keyboard.

no need to spend $70 on what is essentially a major cutdown of a keyboard/expanded numberpad
heck a numerpad with mechanical keys costs only £40 i'm sure a membrane numberpad would be much cheaper.

besides xkeys are far superior to the razer and logitech stuff because you can do this http://mykeyboard.co.uk/microswitch/ with them
