PSU and GPU question - Page 2

Don't worry at alliIt can handle it, I have the same video card and some other things hooked up to a PSU just like that one on my mom's computer and it works fine,

According to THIS, the total combined wattage for the +5V and +3.3V is 130W, leaving supposedly 300W combined wattage for the 12V lines. 300W/12V = 25A. Take into account the lost of efficiency and all, it can be a bit less than that.

Regardless, the point is the PSU is more than adequate. Apologies if this is going off-topic.
Thanks for the correction. Makes sense if you think about it logically. Still, my point was that that PSU was more than adequate for that GPU.

Actually, efficiency doesn't factor into it. All the efficiency label tells you is that if your components are drawing 100W from the an 80% efficient PSU, it's drawing 125W from the outlet.

That said, a 430W PSU should be more than enough for a GT 240. Heck, with the parts on your sig, I reckon even a (good quality) 200W would work. It'll probably run close to the limit when the system is stressed but it will work. Heck, I'm running a Core i7-860 + MSI GT 240 1GB on an Antec EA-380D and I don't think I've ever seen it hit 200W.

It will work.

PSU is an overrated, mediocre HEC 350W. But that's enough.
