I'll give this a try. I've gotta say I'm a bit dissapointed in the tutorials out there for overclocking x58 based CPU's. None of them test to ever talk about the things in the bios to disable to prevent the system from altering the speeds. It's even worse for the 980x. Most just say, hey, you are unlocked, just increase your CPU multiplier and the voltage and you are good to go. Nothing else to do. Perhaps I'm missing the good ones, but most seem to not be a total walkthru like they had back in the day. If I'm wrong, would love to see a document that describes how to do things. Even the NCIX video I saw said to just tweak the multiplier and voltage and everything else is covered in the generic i7 overclick video, which then said if you have a 980x disregard this whole video.
