Swiftech MCW80 + 5770 = Win!

Thread Starter
I'm fairly new to water cooling and just ordered a MCW80 for my video card. I wish I had wc'ed my video card sooner.

I followed this guide since it takes a few minor mods to install.

On the stock cooler my card maxed out at around 80c at 65% fan. On water the max load temp is 36c.

Just thought I would share.

nice!

Nice I just added the MCW60 to my loop and it keeps my GTS 250 at 792c at 38C with Prime95 + OCCT running.

Watering the GPU is cool, isn't it? 21C and the 580 is idling at 30C 980/4480 @ 1.15v (adaptive downclocking disabled via static BIOS clocks). OC Scanner with power draw control heavy mode enabled and the load limiter disabled sees 43C maximum (Heaven also takes it to 43C). In contrast, I was idling on air at 58C 900/4200 @ 1.25v with a re-TIM and a high-flow bracket. Very satisfying...

Yes, pretty much air idle temp = water load temp. I'm surprised more people don't water cool their gpu.

First of all i don't know why would you need to LC hd5770 it's one of the coolest running cards (own one)it was probably bad TIM
Second.. just to let you know all those universal blocks are the most restrictive out there,if you just going to use one,not a problem but 2 or 3 i would avoid them

In no particular order:
For fun
Less noise
Overclocking

I did consider a full coverage block, but I don't plan on keeping this card forever. I'll use it on whatever I get next.
