Games, trolling, some encoding, frapsing (I think its a word) games I'm playing...

That's about all it would be used for.

My parents forced me to travel the country in a SUV when I was younger, 4000+ mile road trips, to this day I hate being in a car longer than an hour.

What are the "good" overclocking boards for i5's?

On the AMD side we like 8+2 phase power, mosfet cooling, and to a lesser extent (because of all the black editions) fsb limits.

Is there any difference between an i5 and an i7 with HT disabled?

no difference. id go with the i5. spend the extra cash and get the 760, its only a few bucks more.

also that evga p55 le board is a great board. its rock solid. however i think the asus boards are a bit better as far as price/performance.

i5-760
any asus p55 board(there all pretty decent for the most part)
and some gskill ripjaws 1600mhz 9-9-9-24

Is that worth the $80 price difference?

That's probably not really a far comparison is it?

I bought this last week and am really satisfied so far:

Intel Core i3 550 - $129.99
Gigabyte H55 CFX Motherboard - FREE with CPU Purchase @ CompUSA
4GB GSKILL RipJaw 1600mhz 8-8-8-24 - $64.99
Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme - $64.99
Radeon HD6870 - $199.99 (After MIR)

TOTAL = $460.00

CPU @ 4.56ghz
GPU @ 975/1125mhz
RAM @ 1520mhz 7-8-7-24

Super PI 1MB = 12 seconds
3D Mark 06 = 22,734
WEI @ 7.3 CPU, 7.9/7.9 Graphics

Still trying to push her farther - but I'm @ 1.4v VCORE, 1.25v GPU CORE, 1.68v Memory already

Also got my first SSD for home: AData 64GB Sandforce 1200. Decent little drive for $108 free shipping - but it spikes from 130MB/sec - 230MB/sec like a roller coaster. I am enjoying the 0.2ms access time though!

ADDED: The free motherboard deal is gone, but you could grab the CPU, Gigabyte Motherboard and Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme for around $350 on NewEgg.
