If you think that your temps are too high on air when you overclock a lot, you should probably watercool your cpu. What are your specs? You should fill in your system specs (User CP > Edit System)

well thats the thing i in the process of getting the parts for my build and just brainstorming

790fx gd70 mobo
the cpu will most likely be the AMD Phenomâ„¢ II 970 Black
the case i wanna get is the df-85 which comes with 7 fans as is

like i stated i just dont like the big clunk of a heatsink (is that a lame excuse to watercool?)

There are a LOT of better cases you can get for $180. Try:

Corsair 600T
HAF 932 Black
CM 690 II Adv. (Mid tower but totally awesome for cramming a lot of stuff into a small package).

Take it from someone who has a 970 on an H70: Consider a custom loop. 4.0 to 4.1 GHz was the best stable clock I could manage on a shrouded H70 in push/pull intake with 20C ambients. A custom loop took me to 4.3 to 4.4 GHz stable at the same ambients.
