keep this in mind. the higher your FOV the further enemies seem to be from you when you aim.

someone with default of 55 fov will have a much easier time aiming at you medium long range than if he had a 75-90 fov.

For me it depends on the monitor.

On a 4:3 I aim for 90 horizontal, on a 16:10 I aim for 100 horizontal and on 16:9 I aim for 110 horizontal.

ie. These are the settings I use:
4:3 - 90 horizontal fov - 1280x1024 = 78
16:10 - 100 horizontal fov - 1440x900 = 74
16:9 - 110 horizontal fov - 1920x1080 = 78

With these settings, everything still looks and feels right compared to the older FPS games I grew up playing smile.gif

BC2 Fov is tricky since it uses Vertical FOV instead of Horizontal FOV (which many don't know, so they blindly assume they just need to put in their desired number into settings.ini and are done)

Below is a quick calculator. I prefer 100 degrees for the FOV, so I need to tell the BC2 file to be 68 to achieve that

Here are 3 pictures i just took so you can make your own decision.

bfbc2game20110101023944.th.png
bfbc2game20110101024146.th.png
bfbc2game20110101024330.th.png

They are taking at 1900x1080 with 60,75,90 FOV.

All from the same spot aimed at the same ATV. Which target is the largest? You see more with a wider FoV, but you also make your long range combat alot tougher on yourself at the same time. They have their trade offs for each. Short range doesnt make really any difference, but i would say 75% of this game takes place in the medium to long range combat.

anyone telling you what FOV you should be using is incorrect, you should use whatever feels best for you.
