XFX 780i / EVGA 780i : What's the most optimized memory timings set up?

Thread Starter
i am running 6gb of corsair dominator 1066mhz (pc2-8500), 2x2gb + 2x1gb on xfx 780i with P08 bios.

it seems like i can set it up either 5-5-5-15-2T @ 1066mhz or 4-4-4-12-2T @ 800mhz. is there any other settings that is better? which out of those two do you guys think is faster? trying to find the best way to optimize it. i tried 4-4-4-12-2T @ 1066mhz and it crash default back to BIOS.

any help from ones with great experience will be appreciated.

Do you need the higher MHz settings for overclocking perhaps? If not, then stick for the lower timings imo.

i'm just trying to get the most juice out of it.
i'm running 3.2ghz on my Q6600 and i don't plant on running it any higher than 3.4ghz at the most. i don't know 4-4-4-12 @ 800mhz or 5-5-5-15 @ 1066mhz is better or if there is any other setting that is better. windows experience index shows no difference between them.

I think the general rule is that AMD boards like tighter timings while intel is faster with higher mhz. However, I found that 4-4-4-12 @ 800 was much more stable than 5-5-5-15 @ 1066 so thats what im at.

i tried with old ram, it came out same... hmmmm...
is it motherboard related issue or something?
