BGears 140mm fans

Thread Starter
whats up ocn, time for review of these fans, i can see, there isn't any reviews on it..so i made one for us...

so, other day, i ran across these bgears, after having a conversation with ehume about them..i figured id do i test run on them..

e, has tested about every fan known to man, if he doesnt know about them,
well I'm quite positive, no one really knows what these fans are..
so ill test them...

ok first off...
i bought them from here...
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/11895/fan-780/BGears_B-Blaster_140mm_x_25mm_1800RPM_High_Speed_Fan.html?tl=g36c15s775

i had a nice long chat with..i forget the guys name..nice guy anyway..
he assured me, these are not some yate knock off or whatever....
in fact out the package they don't even look like a yate at all..
yay...

also he says, this is a totally different out fit, that these fans are amazing..
so i took into consideration what he said...and tested for myself also...

anyway frozen cpu...= awesome guys..knowledgeable as well..wasn't bull****ting me either..thanks...

so onto testing...let me say, these fans are amazingly silent....

they are extremely good so far, no rattling, no nonsense, no hissing or whining or rumbling...no kind of normal annoying noises we expect from yates or sanace or whatever..yay.....

they push loads of air...box says 100cfm + yes..I'm sure..seems fine to me..

box says they do 1800 rpm, without a doubt!!!, i bios tested this myself in fact they go well over that in my case...

speaking of rpm let me make a good point here..

@1800 rpm
these 140mm silent demons as i call them, lol...
out beat my 120mm scythe ultra kazes at 100% speed on both..

the ultra kazes do 3000+ rpm..yes they do..Ive tested this in my bios..

they don't however, match up to what these bgears can do..
i tested myself...ultra kazes on my setup ran
40c idol
70 load

they don't compare...

i run them at about 80%..all the time..push pull on my armageddon i don't need them running at 100% its just a waste of power..

also please note: for me, on my new i5, 80c is my max..

guys on 775 socket well they would be worried at 60c..
so i don't need all that horsepower they do, in terms of temps being high etc etc..but..never the less..

my temps are low, in fact this is why i posted this...

i run exactly 1c over, what i had with my san ace..

mind you, my san ace, is 150mm super demon!!lol..
that will wake the neighbors up at 100%...

mind you i did not test the san ace at 100%
this is why..i don't run it at 100%
i run it at a tolerable speed without the whining..

the fan is amazing but you have to tone it down so much becase of the whining...

how much percentage that is i don't know ..i don't care that's not the point ..

this is why, at 100% speed of the sanace, it was only a 3 c diff in temp compared to how its normally ran at a lower percentage..

anyway... so...
i could not believe my eyes, when i seen the temps with 2 of these bgers 140mm fans in push pull on my Armageddon..

simply shocked is what i was feeling..

35c was my lowest core during idol...
60c was my hottest core during 6 hours of prime95 smffts..

some of you are thinking wow 60c..hell i cant use that fan its too hot for my socket...

Ive done some extensive testing in the 2 weeks i had these now..
so let me get on with it..

playing battlefield bad company 2 which has a massive amount of usage on the cpu..
i never broke 50c..3 hours game play time..
so in short, prime will stress out your cpu more then it could ever be done...

other thoughts ..
this was tested on a overclocked 4.1 ghz I5 platform with open bench case ...
..below are the pictures...

if you have any questions about these quality fans, ask i have the answer I'm sure...

thanks for reading ..on with pictures...

273vg.jpg

note if your armageddon owner..thease work fine with the push clips..no issues!!!

e ...lol...dont complain, i have not fixed my table saw, so i cant cut off the back hole of the bench yet..tongue.gif
lol
k thx

Sounds mighty impressive!
Is there a chance you could try them with an additional 25mm fan shround on the push?
I think *if* I can get two of these over here in Europe I might have to reconsider my original choice of heatsink and go with the armageddon.

edit: also posted link to your thread in the Fan roundup: http://www.overclock.net/water-cooling/859483-round-6-fan-testing-working-thread-35.html

i dont have any shroud for 140mm fans sry..i just have the san ace..but its 150mm it wont work..i dont think a shroud will do any diff truthfully..i dont see why it would anyhow as well..interesting idea...
come to think of it ..i put 3 ultra kases in push and 2 in pull...on this and it did nothing at all ..no diff..i did try this with 120mm..
im sure it has to do with the flow already being at max...

By a shroud i dont mean adding a third fan. A third fan will actually impair airflow. A shroud is a gutted fan that adds a little bit of space between the pushing fan and the heatsink, allowing the airflow to spread more evenly over the fins. Without a shroud some ares will have optimum cooling, while other fins will have low/minimal airflow.

will be picking up one within the next 24 hours. Unfortunately it's just going to be a case fan but I'm going to test it against my 140mm high speed yates fan
