Voila, you were right windfire, my graphics driver was corrupt, a system restore fixed it.

im not familar with ccc but when starting that if the screen goes to a bright color it could have overloaded your monitor...sounds like your monitors are different so if you colormatched things to make them work one monitor may be severely turned up in brightness either through windows or through the monitor ui...
