well guys im interested in Linux and other free OS's but ive never used one so ive got a comp that i can do it to now and from my understanding you can not play pc games on any form of Linux but ultmatly it would become my sisters comp and she plays sims and stuff so im asking if theres a free OS that lets you play games

You can play pc games with linux you need wine and its just dificult to get some settings right, but with enough know-how you can play most games issue free

There was some discussion on this recently which resulted in this sticky candidate here:

For setting up games I suggest trying PlayOnLinux. Its automated Wine with scripts for many popular games to get them installed and configured for Linux.
