My last speaker set just got FUBAR so i am inn dire need of a new on.

i was wondering about buying this Logitech Z-523 2.1( http://www.logitech.com/en-us/speakers-audio/home-pc-speakers/devices/5861 )

it seems affordable and good, but i would like to hear your opinions on the matter, and some advice.

Logitech came from a input device background, meaning they aren't speaker makers. People here get suckered into their speaker products due to marketing, same goes for Creative.

If you want to get good/decent PC 2.1 speakers, try the Altec Lansing MX6021 or Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 (wired).

If the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 are within your budget, i would go with them. Upgraded to them from a logitech 5.1 set and the Klipsch are so much better there is almost no comparison.

Is this budget set aside for the speakers? or is a sound card part of that too?

If it's only for the speakers, with a budget like that, don't even bother with Logitech. You can easily get much better quality speakers with that large of a budget.

I got Manufacturer Refurbished M-Audio BX5A's for 180 after shipping and tax for Christmas, and I don't regret it a bit (even though there are quite a bit of scratches on the bottom, but i never see it anyways) and these BX5A's will blow out any Logitech set in terms of audio quality. So, with 340 USD, I'm sure you can get WAAYYY better than Logitech.

The budget was only for speakers but it was a giftcard or whatever you call it, but they only had Harman/Kardon(Soundsticks II) speakers i could afford.

Though not what i wanted i am satisfied with them.

And they are blasting Dio and Rainbow so they do fulfill their purpose.
Thanks for advice though.exhappysmiley.png
