Too all Antec 900 owners

How do you remove the top plastic part of the case? I see 4 platic clips, but something else is also holding it in place. I need to put my reset switch back in (Long story) and clean the big 200mm fan.

Question about the fan: Is it unheard of for the fan to be crap from day one? My stepdad's got the same case and his is much better, and his is on the low setting

EDIT: I'm aware I put one too many o's in too. >.<

I don't know about the fan, but there's actually six plastic clips if memory serves. The other two are rather hidden and will probably need to be prodded with a screwdriver or something. Then it just pops off.

There are 4 plastic clips (2 in the back and 2 in the middle) then you have two screws one is holding a grounding wire. After that there are two more clips in the front as JFuss said that are extremely difficult to remove without breaking at least one of them. Here is a blowout diagram that may help you some.

In addition if you're already having trouble with the fans operation or speed, I would contact Antec immediately. They're very good about the warranty on their cases and I've had nothing but excellent service from their customer support division. The fan on my Antec 900 (son's case now) is still running perfectly after 4 years of constant use.

Ive just taken the top off my old 900, ill post some pictires and point out the clips.

You will need something a bit longer than 20cm to poke the clips with, like a screw driver or something (I used a broken radio antenna )
You need to slide it up the side of that small area were all the wires are coming from, get a light in there so you can see better too

you also need to take out those 2 screws were i circled...well their were screws there

About the warranty, iv modded the case so some extent so I will probably not get anything. Besides, iv had the case just over 3 years

I'll see if I can remove those 2 "secret" clips soon

You have screws in the centre of the top that you access from the inside. Once that's unscrewed, you have four visible tabs - two at the back of the case and two at the middle. Start at the back - push one tab and lift that side up, then repeat for the other side. Make sure you wedge it with something so it doesn't snap closed again.
Once you've got the two out from the back, do the same for the middle.

Then it's just about the hidden two... honestly, it's not worth it. Just twist the top left and right to try and get it out. I ended up snapping mine and it really does not make any difference to the case. Don't be scared to break the tabs; it takes you more than two minutes to get it off, it's no longer worth protecting them
