Vertex 2 120gb Extended on Sandy Bridge

Hey,

So, I totally changed my plan, instead of upgrading my 1055T rig, I sold it and I will be getting an i7 2600k.

I was wondering, I am probably going to get one of these mobo's:

- Asus P8P67 EVO
- Asus P8P67 Deluxe

And I am wondering if I should just install Win7 on it, or do I have to do anything first on the BIOS?

Also, any program I should be installing on the OS to make the SSD go better on Intel? Or will TRIM work actumatically?

I'm really worried to be honest, I don't want to screw the SSD or anything

What should I do?

Win 7 natively supports SSD's. It will automatically disable disk defrag, and run TRIM.

You shouldn't need to do a thing.

Thanks for info!

Didn't know that Win7 automatically disabled defrag, thought we had to do it manually

In previous OS's, you're right. You had to manually configure them.

Win 7 is win!

Just make sure you have AHCI selected in the BIOS. I do believe you lose TRIM if you just leave it at default (usually IDE).
