Monitor linking

I've got a 21.5" benq monitor tft and want to get a 18.5" monitor and hook them both up. I am wondering what cable you can use to link the 2 up?
What you do is connect them both to your video card. You don't really hook them up together. If you put your computer stats here, it'll be easier to help you.

I am on a laptop away from home at the moment but my GPU is a asus 5770 it does have 2 monitor ports.
Also i need to buy a DVI cable for my current monitor anything i should be looking for to make sure it fit's?
So i just need to get 2 dvi cables and plug them into both monitors? Also how do i make sure i can play a game on 1 monitor and use the other to use the internet on/
post #4 of 19
Well, if both monitors have DVI ports, you can just get the DVI Cables, but if not you have to buy an adapter.
As far as playing games and using internet, the game should maximize to the monitor it is on, so you can use the other monitor for internet.

The new monitor should come with a DVI cable, so you should be good to go as soon as you get it. As T-bone Steak pointed out, one monitor will play games, and the other monitor will show your extended desktop, so you'll be able to drag windows (like your web browser) over to it.

TFT is the type of LCD display in the monitor.

Unless using eyefinity, your monitor will automatically only show the game on one monitor and the other will be free for whatever you want.

Unless you are hooked up through HDMI right now, you will probably already have a DVI cable in your current monitor, since the BenQ G2220HD has a DVI port.

So, when you buy the 18.5" display, make sure it has DVI ports on it, and that it comes with a DVI cable. If it doesn't come with a DVI cable, you can get one cheap online.
