Welcome to my nightmare...(another disappearing RAM thread), (SOLVED) - Page 2

Ebuyer will haev it all done within a week
Definatly RMA, I had a Rampage II extreme once with a bent pin, And it caused the first ddr slot to stop workin.

The only danger is that they may not accept RMA because they would think that the bent pins was due to you not installing your cpu properly:S

Was there a cpu slot cover on the mobo when you got it?

yes there was! I don't see how i could have installed it wrong, it only goes in one way! As far as i'm aware i did everything right. The computer was functioning perfectly aside from the missing RAM. I had pretty good temps and nothing out of the ordinary happen!

Our Display pics match :

It is possible to fix it by bending the pin back into the correct position, But this is risk, and they probably wont accept RMA and you may end up snapping/bending other pins.

Other things that could cause the problem is dust/dirt in the memory slot. or a bad bios update, But these are highly unlikely.

yeah, thanks very much for the reassurance. I think that RMA is the safest option. Very annoying, but necessary. I will repost with the outcome of the RMA. I hope it goes well :S!

True, but about 300 of them are grounds with quite a bit of redundancy.
