Physx question

Thread Starter
I been thinking about adding my 8800GT to my sig rig.It has been sitting around for a while. Its a Palit 8800GT 1g sonic card,it think it'll work. I've read an other post somewhere saying that Metro 2033 was part of physx so I thought why not. I'll have to read some more about how it works and how to set it up. Am I on the right path? I don't have the money to upgrade so thats out tof the question.

Add it, it will do no harm.

I now remember why I haven't done this before,The 8800GT won't fit because the HS hits the bottom pci slot and wont allow the card to fully seat in the slot.Grrrr I guess I'll have to have a single slot card with a small HS.

I would only consider it if heat will not be an issue, cause the 8800 will put all of its heat into the case.

What a disappointment! A dedicated card such as your Palit 8800GT 1GB Sonic would give noticeable performance gain in games with Physx like Metro 2033.

But I wonder why that 2-slot card can hit the bottom (lower) PCI slot with its heatsink? I mean, the card is designed as a dual slot card and so it should not hit anything on a lower slot (certainly not the slot insert itself!).

And, Chieftec Dragons are nice cases. I have a variant-solid, well-built, functional and good looking.

I Just had my computer apart,I decided to try the 8800GT in the bottom slot again while it was on the bench well it fit So I went ahead and changed in to a new case and everything works just fine.I had to be the older case not letting it fall in the slot where the back strap fits.Tomorrow I'll get metro 2033 and see how it works. Today was a good day to be at home YEAH 2011

If you have Batman AA and Mafia II, try them as well. Some Physx tests are done here in this forum recently and so your result can be compared with those.

And, good to hear that your 8800GT can fit in now!
