Softmodding wii may make wii inoperable according to nintendo. Need Advice

I just soft modded my wii yesterday and I did it in order to play emulated games and use the wii as a DVD player in the living room. I turn on my wii today, and I'm thinking okay, let's play some wii resort. When I turn it on it says system update where the disc is and so I turn off the wireless, and it's still there. So I click on it, while not connected to the internet just to see what it does and it says something to the likes of "If Nintendo finds any modifications on your wii, it will remove them and or make your wii inoperable" Even while offline I didn't go past this just because of that message, and because it may have pre-downloaded the update while I was online.

Also, when I put in Wii sports into the wii, I get a normal disc saying wii sports and can play it, but If I throw back in Wii Resort I get the wii update logo where the disc is, any advice? Is this a new Nintendo thing to crack down on modifications? I just got my wii for Christmas and would hate it to only have lasted me a week. Any Idea or tips on how to get rid of the update part on wii resort? It worked just fine before the update. Worst case scenario does anybody know how to reset the wii back to factory settings or make it so nintendo doesn't detect any modifications? Thanks!

Go install Priiloader onto your Wii and you can block updates all together.

Also install BootMii and backup the NAND to offer even more protection.

Still, if you have the latest version of the Homebrew channel, you wont have an issue with it getting uninstalled.

LOL. This amuses me, I don't think Nintendo would do anything that extreme and I haven't heard of anything like that yet. Just install Bootmii and backup NAND. Which firmware are you on?

I'm on 4.3u which is weird, since I thought it was the latest update. I backed up my nand already and have it saved to my computer. I'll install that program you were talking about to stop updates. Thanks

This. You always need to make sure updates are blocked or else you can say hello to a bricked wii.
