My Asus P5Q-Pro finally bit the dust after 3 years which is really upsetting because it was SO awesome and simple to get all of my clocks in order. To replace it I basically had to settle for this board because it seems like nobody carries P45 boards anymore.

I installed it and fired it up and immediately started running into walls. I couldn't get it to post with the front USB headers plugged in from my case. I removed that and it posted so I started fumbling around the really irritating BIOS. I figured I'd go ahead and flash to the newest BIOS but it didn't change any functionality just a few bugs.

The first problem I immediately ran into was that the BIOS wouldn't allow me to increase the voltage for my RAM to 2.1V as the ram calls for. The BIOS topped out at 1.9V. So immediately my ram is already gimped but I tried to push forward and at least get my CPU to the clocks I had on my previous board. I have a Q9550 that's rated at 2.8GHZ stock. I had it OC'd to 3.4 GHZ by increasing the VCore to 1.25V, NB 1.2V and Term. Voltage to 1.2V. I set the multiplier to 8.5 and the FSB to 400.

I tried duplicating those settings with this new board but it wouldn't let me set the Vcore to 1.25. It would only to go 1.2 and for the other settings I couldn't find all of what I needed. The BIOS doesn't clearly say 'Termination voltage' so I couldn't find that anywhere.

I guess my main concern is the RAM. I have Patriot Viper Series DDR2 PC2-8500 1066MHZ RAM. I at least want my ram to run at 1066MHZ and if I have to keep my CPU at stock settings then I will. Is there anyone out there who has used this board and could give me a few pointers on what my problem could be?
