Fans for Radiator. Triebwerks vs Gentle Typhoon

Thread Starter
Hi,

I will replace my Papst fans for some Triebwerks or Gentle Typhoon fans.

The triebwerks are double the price rahter than the Gentle typhoons.

The Radiator i got is an XSPC RX360 Extreme Performance Radiator.

So the scenario is: What is best of the following options?

1: 3 x Triebwerks (Push only)
2: 6 x Gentle Typhoons (Push and pull)

Thanks for your opinions.

For that radiator in that case, pull-only GentleTyphoons is your best bet; if you want push-pull, that'll be fine, as well, but you'll see diminishing returns. Treibwerks are severely overhyped sleeve bearing fans that can easily be outperformed by a Panaflo/San Ace with a shroud, which would actually cost less.

Ok, so you tell me that i will not get any better results with 6 gentle typhoons in push/pull rather then only 3 in pull?

I am simply looking for the best fans that could cool this radiator. Price is not an obstacle.

Reading through this forum, i have found out that there is middle speed fans that is best for this radiator? about 12-1400 RPM?

What is your suggestions on fans for this?

I'd just go with 3 x gentle typhoons in push. At 1850 RPM push > Pull.

With your loop you'll get just under 10C delta, which is pretty decent.

I'm saying that the performance gain with push pull won't be worth the extra money; push or pull is more than good enough.

They say 1450 RPM but they are the AP-15 model number (which is 1850 RPM according to scythe).

I would just buy them, and if they turn out to be the 1450 RPM ones sell them on OCN. They are a popular fan and I'm sure they would sell like hot-cakes.

Oh snap didn't realize you lived in Norway. If you can't get the Scythe Gentle Typhoon some medium speed yate loons will work just as well, if only a little louder. They are also a lot cheaper, usually retailing for $5 per fan.
