New card new drivers?

If I am going from an 8800GT at driver version 258.96 to an GTX 570 do I have to remove the old drivers or do I just update to the most current ones when I change out the card?

What is the best way to uninstall the old drivers. I have always just done it from the add/remove program menu. This is my first time uninstalling drivers using windows 7.

That is how I have always done it. Never regretted it either.

Also, if you have any problems with the uninstaller you can use Device Manager to uninstall the driver too.

I never botherd removeing drivers when going from nVidia to nVidia, and I never had a problem.
Sure it it's recommended to upgrade to the latest drivers after an update.

An alternative to using Windows' Add/Removal Programs, you can also use the ''Clean Install' feature that is built-in with newer Nvidia Driver Package.

Just use that option and it will automatically do the uninstall/install work for you.

The only reason I suggest it is because I had major issues with my gx2s and 275s as well as my 275s and 480s. The only way everything worked well was when I removed drivers. Plus when nvidia includes it in their msi, it is probably for good reason.
