Perhaps, if I was playing at your resolution, but I can assure you that is definitely NOT the case at 1080p or higher. Even my SLI 570's still have trouble maxing out vanilla Crysis at my native resolution of 1920x1200. If you really want to max out the game, you need to set ALL of your graphics options to the highest possible setting - and that includes Anti-Aliasing as well. Then watch your system join the rest of the world weeping with tears of agony.
[OFF-OFF-TOPIC]
As I stated above, all settings are at Ultra, using the Ultra graphics mod, except the resolution, cause that's the max of my monitor, + 4xAF, + Nature mod. Why do I have to repeat all that?
Even if we raise the resolution to, say, 1280x1024, so you all feel comfortable, and remove the Ultra mod and the Nature mod (which are not official, and not required for the game to be "maxed") I'll still be getting the same framerate of 40, which is more than perfect.
GEZUS!
4870 is a strong card, that came out after the release of Crysis, why is it so hard for all of you to believe it maxes it?

Oh, I hate to make this thread about me..
Also it's not very polite to tell somebody how *his* rig runs..

Topic about my 4870- Closed, we're spamming a good thread
1. You brought it up in a forum space that has struggled to max this game out even on current generation hardware.
2. You're speculating on performance about a resolution you don't have access to. I can tell you from personal experience that any bump in resolution will eat away at your performance.
3. You fail to show whether if you even have any Anti-Aliasing enabled, and if you do have it enabled, whether it is truly "maxed out".
4. The Ultra Graphics Mods that you are using are in reality optimized settings that offers excellent visuals where you wouldn't even know that it's a performance oriented mod - meaning it's actually lighter on your hardware! I know it because I used to use it all of the time with my HD4850 512MB. Again, the vanilla game is harsher on the GPU while not being as pretty to the naked eye. You don't have to trust me, just read any review of any card from when your's was released till today.
5. I understand your need to defend your 4870. Yes, your card can give *you* great visuals and performance for *your* resolution, but it does not represent what other people will see when they are playing the game maxed out (according to your definition) on larger resolutions with/without the same mods.

Mind you, none of what we both are saying is anything new that hasn't already been beaten to death. If you had just said that you're happy with your own performance (however way you achieved it) rather than try so hard to "prove" to everyone of playable performance with mods at a low resolution, I would have left it alone. I won't derail this any further so if you want to debate this in PM's let me know.

You can get an AMD Radeon HD 6950 for less and unclock it to an AMD Radeon HD 6970. They have a thread (actually threads) here with the link to the TechPowerUp guide.

OP, you shouldn't have put the NV card in the poll, that's just asking for a flame war
Instead would've been better to make 2 polls between 3 AMD and 3 NV cards, and then out of the 2 winners, take the one You wish
My 4870 sucks, can't take any newer games on high settings and I am getting tearing in Crysis 2....
