LOL, that ronnin guy was running his 4870 on a res lower than 1280x1024, thats why he was able to "max" the game!

I can confirm too that Crysis and Crysis 2 can run almost maxed out on 4870 with a little, but not painful lag. It runs pretty well also on my 8800GTX Ultra. Used resolution is 1680x1050. I have bought a 6950 in the meantime and the performance jump is by far not what I have expected considering that I have also upgraded my computer. Some games are producing even worse results like World of Tanks which I play a lot. My FPS was about 35-60 on 4870 and 8800, while it's about 50-120 on the new config. Not much change in experience tho.

So 6950 was a good choice but do not expect the world to be changed.

Well the HD6950 is meant to last for some time. Of course you didn't see any difference because a minimum of 35 FPS is optimal but you will notice the extra power later on in more demanding games.

I propose a simple test. Get all the raw numbers you can from benchtests, add them all together then divide by the cost of the cards you narrow it down to (FPS scores or 3D marks, makes no difference). That should give the most objective bang for your buck assessment. It's hard to be indecisive when the figures are staring you in the face. Worked for me.
