Fill res from front of case?

Thread Starter
I have a Swiftech MCP35X with the included res. Picture of the res below. I have a Cosmos S case and the res is sitting on the fan mount at the bottom of the case next to the power supply. Or that's where I'm thinking of putting it since I could have a real secure mount screwing it to the fan vents. Was going to put it in the front of the case but wasn't hot about double sided taping it on top of the hard drive case.

Anyway, I can remove some of the front grills and have a clear site to the res below. The screw on the top is supposed to be for extending the fill range. Any ideas what I would need to buy to attach something to this res and the associated fill mechanism so I can fill the res from the front of the case when needed?

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it's just G 1/4 thread, meaning you just need a normal fitting and a length of tubing. If you wanted you could add a fill port onto the other end of the tube to give a nice clean look on the front of your case.

Thanks for the reply. Yes you are correct on the thread type. Perhaps it's just because it's my first water kit, but am a bit confused. A fill port seems like a hole with a screw in it. How do you actually get the water into it without spilling all over a funnel?

Thanks.

What do you mean "spilling all over a funnel"? You mount the fill port to the top/front of your case. When you want to fill your loop you insert the end of the funnel into the fill port and pour your water into the funnel.

That was the question. What do I use since the opening is so small. You answered it in your response. Was thinking there would be something larger that you could just pour it into out of the bottle like the size of the top on the res I pictured above.

i would'nt bother doing a fill port to res , just get some tubeing an connect ot the top of the res and fill once filled, then remove tube and replace cap, for a clean looking loop =)

I use a squirt bottle with a length of rather small tubing to fill my loop. works pretty well and makes the loop super quick to fill
