The joys of a new member's first OC Build.

Hello everyone, i am building my first over clocked computer. So far i have stripped my old XPS 410 and took its Hard drive, upgrade ATI XFX HD4650 Video card, ATI TV wounder, Dell (TSST) DVD r/w, 250GB HD (old OS) and the 1TB Backup/Storage drive. I installed the new motherboard Maximus III and a new i5 655k. Liquid cooled the cpu with the H70 and hard drives. Then connected the XFX 850W power supply which is nice. Only here's where it went down hill.

After first boot, knowing from my reading i will need to update the drivers noticed that i did not get anything on the montiors after running repair from WIN.7 disk i got a curser on the left monitor thinking that there was still an issue. I the re-installed the OS from the WIN.7 disk and still nothing. After doing this the first night a few times. I when to work and remembered the right monitor and what it was set on. Did i mention a home SECAM was on it. Well it turned out to my dismay that I needed to switch the screen input and there was a install screen.

Oh S!$7 i was thinking, after installing the OS the 3 PC code would no longer take and had to esc out. So next in the budget will need to buy a new OS before Win.7 locks me out.

Next down fall i found that so how, and i am sure i didnt do it. The backup storage with all my pic/movies/files/OS backups, was now blank. After some reacher and praying i found a program called "EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard" I am at work again letting it run it says it found over 4,000,000,000GB??? of files hoping that the 1TB it started with will be there when i get home.

Well thats it for now I will post more of my OC miss adventures once i get somthing started. Maybe soon i will get to try my first attempted OC. Wish me luck as you can see i sure need it.

Any chance you could reformat this into paragraphs? It likes you are listing items too, so it may not be a bad idea to stick them on different lines. I'm just having a hard time reading this.

Glad to have you here.

One more suggestion. The New Members forum descripion says it's to introduce yourself, and that no questions are supposed to be asked in this section. That's because you will get more and better answers in the sections specific to your problem. Sorry to be so nitpicky.

Nice system btw.

Can you tell me where would be the best place to begin posting in the forums? Thanks.
