Info on surge protectors?

Hey guys, my computer is currently running directly off the wall I know not all surge protectors are made equal, so it'd be great if you could tell me either a brand/specific model to trust. I don't need the fancy multi-hundred dollar ones that'll surge protect your phone line/ethernet cables/power/next-door neighbor's foot warmer, just a simple power surge protector.
Thanks!

APC is a good brand. There's not too much physically inside of a surge protector that a company can mess up with anyway...One or two capacitors and a couple of MOVs.

But I like to stick to APC for surge protectors. Good power supplies come with good transient filters (surge protectors) built in, but a regular surge protector is still good to have.
